Year 5 and 6 Knox Divisional Girls AFL
Last week we had a team of Year 5 and 6 girls participate in the Knox Divisional AFL Girls competition. The team did wonderfully well in the round robin stage – winning 3 out of their 4 matches. They unfortunately lost their playoff games. Regardless, I’d like to congratulate them on their effort and teamwork on the day. A big congratulations is also extended to Isla B. for being selected as the best player in the group – well done Isla!! I’d also like to thank Ms Dunkinson for supervising and coaching the team on the day.
Year 5 and 6 Hoop Time
On Monday 54 excited Year 5 and 6 students travelled to Mullum Mullum Basketball Stadium to participate in a Hoop Time basketball event. We had seven teams spread amongst the all-stars, future stars and rookies leagues there. The competition was fierce, but our teams held their own and really developed their teamwork and basketball defensive awareness throughout the day. Congratulations to all the students who participated in the event and also committed to attending the training sessions at school. I’d like to thank our parent helpers and coaches on the day including Lyndal, Laura, Dale, Krystal, and Kristy, as well as all the other family members who came and supported the kids. Thanks to the school staff who also assisted on the day – Ms Turcinovic, Mrs Reiner, Mrs Farrell, Julie, and Erin.
